Doesn't Make Sense

The few out there who truly know me know that I'm a big Jeff Buckley fan. I found Jeff Buckley's music in 1998. One year after his death by drowning in 1997. Rumour has it that Jeff had a fear, a superstition of sorts, about the curse of an early death that follows the great rockers. Admittedly that "curse" is usually bathed in the dust of cocaine and swimming in alcohol but still, too many of rock's pioneers have met the fate of an early death. Jeff drowned in the Mississippi River in May of 1997. His friends described Jeff wading fully clothed into the Mississippi as though he was being baptized. He then slipped and was never seen alive again. If alcohol or drugs were involved his estate lawyers have done a good job keeping it quite.
His music has been described as a cross between Van Morrison and Led Zeppelin. I see him as a Damien Rice type but with a serious attitude. His music is blunt, crass, and addictive, his voice ethereal.
Even today, his music is covered by all of the industry's greats. His songs open shows like The Dead Zone. Only four album releases but with that limited contribution he changed so much.

Why Wouldn't Jesus Want Gays to Marry?

No seriously folks, why wouldn't Jesus want gays to have the same rights as everyone else? Regardless of how you feel about gay marriage being "natural" or not, there's nothing and I mean NOTHING out there to say that marriage between gays is illegal or wrong. We all know that Jesus was all about love, acceptance, and "fighting the man". Dare I say Jesus was the most liberal of the liberal in his time. I would also guess that a 33 yr old single man sparked many rumours among the town gossips back then. In Jesus' time, a man was promised to marriage when he was 13 yrs old. A single man in his 30's was odd indeed. I wondered if gay rumours circulated about him. Was Jesus discriminated against because he wasn't married and spent his days with 12 dudes? Think about it, people.

The inset picture shows Jesus in the way that I think many people see him these days. A gun carrying, revenge seeking, homophobic redneck. Sometimes, I'm at a loss for words when it comes to my heterosexual compadres. At times, I'm embarrassed to be associated with them. Not all of us heteros are opposed to marriage rights for everyone. Not all of us are opposed to civil liberties nor are we all conservatives.

Well now that I've pointed out the obvious stupid for the day, my work is done. There is so much stupid out there, with Georgie in office and all, I can hardly contain myself. I must rest up so I can post about more stupid later.
